Rally for a Low-Income Transit Pass

Wednesday, November 9, 2016 - 8:30am

Making Voices Count, cosponsored by the Coalition of Community Health and Resource Centres and City for All Women Initiative, has been working with Healthy Transportation Coalition, residents and community partners on low-income transit pass for the past few years.

Because of all your support, the City felt this need. This week, the Mayor Jim Watson and Transit Commission Chair Stephen Blais announced that a low-income transit pass will be included in the draft Budget 2017, to be tabled on November 9th. However, they aren't currently saying how much the pass will cost. It is important that we continue to take actions to ensure low-income transit pass become a reality in 2017. We, together, can make this happen!
